It all means more than I can tell you.
So you must not judge what I know by what I find words for.

December 31st 2012, just a few days after the release of his second project as NAAL, Dave Mantel packed everything he owned into a 2000 Chrysler LHS that had belonged to his grandma and drove from Charlotte, North Carolina, where he had been living, back to his hometown of Chicago, Illinois to record an album with his friends' band, Qajaq. Over the next 5 years, together with his friends, and out of the birth of a production company, the wreckage of a podcast, several music festivals across the US, countless house shows- both hosted and played, and hundreds of hours of conversation about music, community, the "scene," religion, and meaning, something began to emerge that was bigger than any one individual or artistic project.

CHROMA ARTIST COLLECTIVE is founded on the idea that within an active, supportive community, art flourishes. We are a group of artists in a variety of mediums who work to leverage our skills to create great art, and foster great community. We do this...

INDIVIDUALLY by focusing on the intent and purpose behind each aspect of what we produce as artists. Whether that is an album, a video, a show, we give our best, and nothing less.

COLLECTIVELY by working together in community- as opposed to isolation- and focusing on fostering transparent, authentic relationships. We hope to show those around us what a healthy creative community looks like, leading by example.
